The Xavier Solis Story
Xavier Solis is a Toronto-born Canadian singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and performer whose music blends Latin, Jazz, Soul, Funk, and Gospel influences into a sound he simply calls “The Groove.” Xavier draws from a rich musical upbringing shaped by his parents, both gospel singers and multi-instrumentalists, who inspired his lifelong passion for music through their soulful example.
Influenced by legendary artists such as Frank Sinatra, Mario Lanza, Luis Miguel, Julio Iglesias, Stevie Wonder, Prince, and James Brown, Xavier Solis spent his youth exploring musical theatre, jazz, and eventually grand opera. At the age of twelve, he discovered a deep passion for classical music, dedicating the next decade of his life to rigorous vocal study and artistic development.
The Roots
After completing an enriched arts vocal program in high school, Xavier Solis continued his training at the University of Toronto's Faculty of Music's Voice Performance Department, studying opera and classical vocal technique under internationally renowned opera singers. While performing in his graduating opera production, he was presented with a life-changing opportunity to join a touring Motown tribute production. Embracing the chance to reconnect with his soulful roots, he transitioned away from opera and embarked on a new chapter as a professional performer.
Over the following years, Xavier Solis performed extensively throughout Canada in well over hundreds of shows across theatres, major festivals, private events, and premier entertainment venues including The Avalon Theatre at Fallsview Casino. Through touring and work within the Canadian music scene, he cultivated lasting professional relationships while refining his craft as a dynamic live performer.
The Groove
Behind the scenes, Xavier Solis dedicated years to songwriting and artistic development alongside independent music producer TOnX, collaborating with musicians, engineers, and fellow writers to bring his vision to life. This journey ultimately led to the creation of The Gentlemen of Groove, a collective of exceptional musicians committed to artistic excellence and delivering unforgettable live performances. Together, they continue to captivate audiences of all sizes, bringing "The Groove" back to the stage through world-class musicianship, energy, and showmanship.
Guided by the lifelong lesson passed down from his father: "Show Love, Keep it Classy, Stay Passionate, and Let the Soul Carry the Sound". Xavier Solis has built his artistic identity around authenticity, passion, and connection.
In 2026, Xavier Solis reached several major milestones, including making his debut at Toronto's renowned NXNE Music Festival and earning a residency at the legendary Reservoir Lounge beginning in the fall. As he prepares to release his highly anticipated debut album, Xavier remains committed to honoring both his multicultural roots and the city that shaped him.
